The red ball has been specially designed with an absolute spherical, hard surface for precise tracking and control. I have both, I much prefer that slimblade due to the lower profile. The wireless option isn't important but is a welcomed feature. They are both low profile trackballs, the Slimblade more so. The fake clicking noise and hard to push buttons make the expert a better option for me. I just tried the orbit too but the ball is too small and the buttons being on the side doesn't feel as ergonomic as the expert/slimblade of having it on top. The buttons on the slimblade are extremely hard to push while the expert is a pleasure. I like the slim profile as it doesn't require the use of the wrist rest and ends up taking less space.

The newer version of the slimblade makes a fake click sound (there's a speaker that makes the sound and it is not actually from any physical contact of the trackball) when scrolling with the ball and you can't turn it off. I went to staples and tried out both of them and they are both really comfortable. Navigate with greater comfort and precision.

Can anyone recommend one over the other The trackball is cheaper but I never had a trackball mouse. The scroll ring is still tactile but very quiet and smooth now. The new version has bluetooth 5.0 and also a much smoother/quieter scroll ring. I had tried the previous version and hated the scroll ring. It looks like they updated the expert model June of 2020.
